Office World
Picture this: cheesy elevator music, beige cubicles with "approved" decorations, quirky co-workers, someone has microwaved fish in the office kitchen...and that is Office World. Office World was a Facebook social game we created in coordination with Microsoft, exploring the funny side of corporate office culture. The mechanics of the game came about in the Zynga era of dominance, where cooperative play, vanity customizations, and personal expression were key tenants of social gaming. I was Lead Artist on the project, and not only spearheaded much of the style and humor of the game, but importantly developed character animations that brought these very simple characters to life. Animation is an extremely powerful tool, and has a huge impact not only with characters, but also equally applicable to UX and how users perceive and digest complex information over time.
