Lonely Planet: Travel Quest

Role: Art & Design Director
I have an intense love of travel, so this was a product I was really excited to work on. We were hired by Lonely Planet to create a travel-inspired game where the player was adventuring around the world, solving quests to find real-life places in major cities. One super interesting challenge was that we wanted the game to use an actual interactive live map that would integrate with the frontend built in Flash. This led us to the maps API called OpenMaps. As Art Director, I led research to figure out how we could stylize and customize that map to match with our own game assets of map elements and points of interest (in which I was also leading production) . The result was a complex but super fun travel experience that gave the player a feeling of "exploring" real places around the world.
